Nothing says "pedagogy" like someone who doesn't play trombone leading a  bunch of people
who don't play trombone in...playing trombone. But most importantly, we had a great time.

I have been teaching actively, both in private and group settings, since 2010. Currently, I am the associate manager of artist development at The Music District in Fort Collins, CO, where I create/facilitate programs to help independent artists in Northern Colorado strengthen their musical and music industry skills. Before that, I spent two years teaching undergraduate music technology classes at the University of Colorado Boulder. As a 2019-2020 Minnesota Public Radio "Class Notes" teaching artist, I have performed dozens of interactive performances at elementary schools across Minnesota. A seven year veteran of the Mile of Music education team and a 2019 Carnegie Hall Ensemble Connect Audience Engagement Intensive fellow,  I am passionate in helping others bring out their innate musicianship.

Through my work with Sprig of That, Slipstream, Porky's Groove Machine, and Lawrence University, I have presented workshops and performed at University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Drake University, St. Cloud State University, Interlochen Arts Academy, the Wisconsin Music Educator's Association, University Wisconsin-Oshkosh, the Appleton, WI public schools, and K-12 schools across Minnesota.
